Bogalusa Woman Claims Pot of Gold Top Prize

Melany Johnson of Bogalusa is buying a new car. The 55-year-old claimed a $17,000 top prize from the Louisiana Lottery's Pot of Gold scratch-off and plans to purchase a new Lexus.
A still-stunned Johnson shared that she could hardly wait for her daughter to drive her to Baton Rouge to claim her prize at Lottery headquarters.
Johnson purchased her top-prize winning ticket at Main Street Grocery on Columbia Street in Bogalusa.
Pot of Gold is a $2 scratch-off game that offers the chance to win up to 10 times on each ticket. There are two remaining top prizes as of April 2.
Persons must be at least 21 years of age to purchase a Lottery ticket. Anyone who has a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem are encouraged to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867. For security purposes, the Lottery strongly encourages players to sign the back of their ticket immediately after purchasing.
