Baton Rouge Woman Claims Half of December 17 Lotto Jackpot

BATON ROUGE – Sharon Coulter of Baton Rouge stepped forward last week to claim her half of a $1,410,386 Louisiana Lottery Lotto jackpot prize, which was split between two winning tickets in the Dec. 17 drawing.

“I can’t believe I won,” said Coulter. “It’s still hard to believe even though I’m here to pick up my check!”

The 48-year-old’s winning ticket matched all six numbers to win $705,193, which she claimed last Tuesday at Louisiana Lottery headquarters. The winning numbers were 11-21-25-33-36-40.

Coulter received $493,635.10 after state and federal tax withholdings. She purchased her winning ticket at La. Food Mart on Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge. The store received a one-time selling bonus of $7,051.93, which is 1 percent of the prize.

The second winning ticket was sold at Sunshine Groceries in Deridder and has yet to be claimed. 

Lottery ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age. Draw-style game tickets must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing. Anyone who may have a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem should call toll free 1-877-770-7867 for help.
