The news of Torrell Jasper's $100,000 winning MONOPOLY scratch-off spread as fast as his good fortune in Houma. Just days after Jasper claimed the game's first top prize, his friend Dontrell Williams gave the game a try and ended up winning $1,000 himself.

Jasper said he chose the MONOPOLY scratch-off ticket because it was the last ticket in the dispenser. He said he plans to purchase a new home with his winnings.

Williams said he plans to celebrate by taking his family out to dinner.

Jasper purchased his winning ticket at Cajun Magic Truck Stop in Houma, and Williams purchased his winning ticket at Jubilee Exxon #4624 in Houma.

Ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age. Scratch-off prizes may be claimed within 90 days of the announced closure of the game, as reflected in the following end-of-redemption dates. Scratch-off games are closed when all of the top prizes in a game have been claimed, or when all of the tickets in a game have been substantially sold or at the discretion of the Lottery's president.

For security purposes, the Lottery strongly encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing.  Anyone who may have a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem should call toll free 1-877-770-7867 for help.
