While visiting her daughter and grandchildren for the Fourth of July, crawfish angler Julie Fontenot purchased a Powerball ticket on a whim.  Distracted by the holiday weekend, she didn't think about the ticket again until she stopped for gas on her way home to Eunice and was shocked to learn she had a $200,000 winning ticket.

"I hadn't played the Lottery in several months so I wasn't expecting anything," explained Fontenot.  "When I picked up the winning numbers printout and saw I had matched five of the numbers, I was shocked."

Fontenot's ticket matched all five white-ball numbers drawn, but missed the red Powerball number to win $200,000.  She said she plans to put her winnings in savings for her six grandchildren.

Fontenot purchased her winning ticket from Washington Citgo on North Main Street in Washington. The store will receive a one-time bonus of $2,000 for selling the winning ticket.

The winning numbers for the July 2 Powerball drawing were 01-11-18-29-51 and the Powerball number was 32.
