After experiencing a devastating home fire, Daryl Binford of Deridder could appreciate the phrase "perfect timing" when he claimed a $10,000 Louisiana Lottery Powerball prize from the May 4 drawing.

"The fire destroyed the front door and some of the inside of my house," explained Binford.  "Thankfully the structure of the house remained intact."

Binford, age 42, shared that he plans to use his winnings to finish making repairs on the fire-damaged portions of his home.  "It feels unbelievable to win," he said.

Binford's ticket matched four of the five white ball numbers drawn and the red Powerball number to win $10,000. The winning numbers for the May 4 Powerball drawing were 03-15-27-29-41 and the Powerball number was 24.

Binford purchased his winning ticket from Sunshine Groceries #8 on North Pine Street in Deridder.
