President Randy Davis announced that the Lottery has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the eighth straight year from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada.

"This is an incredibly gratifying accomplishment for a corporation that relies so heavily on maintaining public confidence and trust," said Davis.  "In an age where corporate accounting in general has undergone scrutiny, we are privileged to have aboard such a fine team of accounting professionals led by Senior Vice President Karen Fournet and Vice President Jimmy Goodrum here at the Lottery."

According to the GFOA, the Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government entity and its management.

The association is a nonprofit group with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C., and serves about 14,000 government financial professionals.
