Just when you thought size 3X was big, Powerball introduces 10X. From March 2-29, 2006, one of the "5s" on the Power Play wheel will be replaced with a "10."  This means that winners who purchase the Power Play option could have their non-jackpot related* prize multiplied up to 10 times!

For example, if the "10" is selected, match-5 winners who puchased the Power Play option would win $2 million, or 10 times the usual $200,000 prize for matching five white ball numbers drawn but missing the Powerball number.

The promotion will run March 2-29, 2006, no matter how many times the "10" is selected on the Power Play wheel. However, if the "10" is not selected during that time frame, the promotion will be extended until it is selected once.

How Power Play Works
For an additional $1 per play per drawing, Powerball players can add the Power Play option to their ticket. Simply mark the Power Play box on your playslip or tell the clerk you'd like a Power Play when requesting a Quick Pick.

Then, any nonjackpot-related* prize won will be multiplied by the number randomly selected on the Power Play wheel during the drawing. The Power Play wheel has 16 slots which are typically numbered with equal slots of 2, 3, 4 and 5. During the 10X promotion, one of the "5s" on the wheel will be replaced with a "10".

*Power Play does not apply to the jackpot prize or to the Match-5 Bonus Prize when in effect.
