Date Night Leads to Jackpot Win!
"When I typed in our numbers on the Lottery's Web site and nothing came up, I was positive it was a trick," shared Wayne. "But I checked it again and realized I had the wrong date, so I entered our numbers again under Oct. 31 and sure enough they all matched.""
A still-shocked Betty, age 55, explained that every weekend on "date-night" she and her husband go out to dinner and then to buy their Lotto tickets. "We believe that you can't win if you don't bother to play, so we play regularly," added Betty. "I still can't believe that we actually won."
The Breazeales received $315,000 after federal and state taxes were withheld. Currently, the Breazeales have no major plans for their winnings besides putting the money away for retirement. Eventually, Betty hopes to use some of the money to buy a more spacious R.V. for family trips to the beach.
Harde' Mart #227 on South Main Street in Junction City sold the Breazeales their jackpot winning ticket. The store will receive a bonus of $4,500, which is 1 percent of the prize, for selling the winning ticket. The winning numbers for the Oct. 31 Lotto drawing were 4-14-21-22-34-37.
