Stacie Doyle of DeQuincy had a reason to smile after winning a $100,000 top prize from a Louisiana Lottery New Orleans Saints scratch-off, and everyone around her had to smile, too, just watching her.

"I scratched the ticket, and I just started screaming," said Doyle, age 38. "I apologized to the other customers who were in the store because I could not quit screaming." To Doyle's delight, they assured her they would do the same if they had won.

With her winnings, Doyle said she plans to buy birthday presents for her son and a new car for herself. She purchased her winning scratch-off at Valero Corner Store #383 on East Fourth Street in DeQuincy.

New Orleans Saints is a $5 scratch-off game that offers players the chance to win up to $100,000. With 15 chances to win on each ticket, the game has three remaining top prizes as of Sept. 30.

Players who do not win a cash prize on the New Orleans Saints scratch-off can enter their nonwinning tickets in second-chance drawings for autographed Saints merchandise and once-in-a-lifetime fan experiences to see the Saints in action. The entry deadline for the next drawing is Oct. 15, 2009.

According to Louisiana Lottery policy, a scratch-off game is closed and removed from sale when all top prizes for the game have been claimed. Winners have 90 days from the game closure date in which to claim their winnings.

Players must be at least 21 years old to purchase a Lottery ticket.  The Lottery encourages anyone who has a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867 for help.
