Sticking to Red Hot 7's scratch-off tickets paid off for Shirley Meeks of Monroe when she claimed the last $100,000 top prize from the game at the Louisiana Lottery's Monroe office.

"I saw there was one top prize remaining, so I kept choosing that game when I would play," said Meeks, age 30. She said she plans to pay bills with her winnings.

Meeks purchased her winning scratch-off from Swartz Quick Stop on Highway 594 in Monroe.

According to Louisiana Lottery policy, a scratch-off game is closed and removed from sale when all top prizes for the game have been claimed. All top prizes from Red Hot 7's have been claimed, and the game closed Oct. 30. The last day to redeem prizes for the game is Feb. 27, 2009.
