West Monroe Resident Claims $10,000 Powerball Prize from Sept. 20 Drawing

Last Saturday night, the LSU football game kept Patricia Owens of West Monroe from checking her Powerball ticket. As it turns out, the Tigers won and so did she -- a $10,000 prize which she claimed at the Louisiana Lottery's Monroe office.
"I missed the televised Powerball drawing because I was watching the LSU game," said Owens, who turned 22 on Sept. 25. "So I looked on the Lottery's Web site at midnight to check the numbers and I almost passed out right there!"
Owens said she plans to use her winnings to pay off her house. She purchased her ticket from Hard Mart #115 on Highway 34 in West Monroe.
The winning Powerball numbers for the Sept. 20 drawing were 06-28-30-40-47 and the Powerball number was 24. Owens matched four white ball numbers and the red Powerball number to win her prize.
