Austin Martin Sr. of Slidell claimed a $200,000 prize at the Louisiana Lottery Corporation's New Orleans office as a result of a winning Powerball ticket from the April 5 drawing.

"At first, I was so numb that I had to get my wife to verify the numbers," Martin chimed. "I just wish I would have played the Power Play."

Martin's ticket matched all five white balls drawn but not the red Powerball number to win his prize.  He said he plans to use his winnings to finish repairing his house.

Martin, age 56, purchased his winning ticket at Fleet Travel Center #601 on Voters Road in Slidell. The winning numbers for the April 5 Powerball drawing were 12-27-30-37-47 and the Powerball number was 26.

The Power Play is a $1 add-on to a Powerball ticket that allows players to multiply any nonjackpot prize by a number randomly selected from the Power Play wheel during the drawing. The wheel is typically numbered with equal slots of 2, 3, 4 and 5. However, through April 30, one of the "5s" on the wheel has been replaced with a "10", giving Power Play purchasers the chance to win up to $2 million.

Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.
Ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age.  The Lottery encourages anyone who has a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867 for help.
