Bill Miller of Slidell just won the Lottery for the first time, claiming a $200,000 prize from the March 12 Powerball drawing.

"I'm still in shock, but it feels great," said Miller, age 47. "This is my first time ever winning and it's two days before my birthday."

He said he knew right away what he would do with the prize money. "I've been working on rebuilding my home since Hurricane Katrina, so this prize really helps out," he said.

Miller's ticket matched all five white balls drawn but not the red Powerball number to win his prize. The winning numbers for the March 12 Powerball drawing were 12-19-30-34-36 and the Powerball number was 8.

Miller purchased his winning ticket at Shaq's Discount Cigarettes & Liquor on Pontchartrain Drive in Slidell. The retailer will receive a one-time bonus of $2,000 for selling Miller his winning ticket.
