Annie Alford of LaPlace claimed a $12,000 top prize from a $2 scratch-off ticket, Let The Good Times Roll, at the Lottery's New Orleans office.
"It feels so good to win!" she said.
Alford, age 44, purchased her winning ticket at Millet Enterprises Inc., on West Airline Highway in LaPlace. She said she plans to use her winnings to purchase new appliances and pay bills.
Let the Good Times Roll is one of the two scratch-offs the Lottery launched for the Mardi Gras season.
The game features the original artwork of New Orleans artist Darrin Butler, winner of the Louisiana JAZZ Visual Arts Competition that was sponsored by the Lieutenant Governor's Office and the Louisiana Department of Culture Recreation and Tourism. It has one top prize of $12,000 remaining as of Feb. 12.
