Jackson Resident Claims $600,000 Powerball Prize
Published on
When Tanya S. Adams of Jackson claimed a $12 prize from a Powerball ticket, she decided to use her winnings to purchase tickets for future drawings. That decision paid off when she ended up winning $600,000 for the Dec. 26 Powerball drawing.
Adam's ticket matched all five white-ball numbers to win $200,000. Because she added the Power Play option to her ticket for an additional $1, her prize was multiplied by three when the Power Play number "3" was selected during the drawing, bringing her total winnings to $600,000.
Adams purchased her winning ticket at Adam's Enterprises on Highway 10 in Jackson. The store will receive a one-time bonus of $6,000, one percent of the prize, for selling Adams her winning ticket.
The winning numbers for the Dec. 26 Powerball drawing were 8-32-41-54-55 and the Powerball number was 20.
