Alicia Kaye Porter of Hammond claimed a $10,000 prize at the Louisiana Lottery Corporation's New Orleans office as a result of a winning Powerball ticket from the Nov. 24 drawing.
"I always play, but this is overwhelming," said Porter, age 39. Her ticket matched four white ball numbers drawn plus the red Powerball number to win her prize.
Porter's ticket was a "quick pick," meaning the Lottery's terminal randomly selected her numbers. She purchased her winning ticket at Fast Lane #16 on S. Morrison Boulevard in Hammond.
The winning numbers for the Nov. 24 Powerball drawing were 1-7-13-23-35 and the Powerball number was 19. Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim draw-style game prizes.
Ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age. The Lottery encourages anyone who has a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867 for help.
