Monroe Resident Claims $30,000 Top Prize from Scratch-Off Ticket

Mary Flewellen of Monroe claimed a $30,000 top prize at the Louisiana Lottery Corporation's Monroe office from a Lucky Crossword scratch-off ticket.
"I love crossword puzzles, so this is the perfect game for me," explained Flewellen, age 58. She said she plans to use her winnings to add a bedroom to her house so that her mom can move in with her.
She purchased her winning ticket at Fil A Sak on Martin Luther King Drive in Monroe.
Lucky Crossword is a $3 scratch-off that offers four remaining top prizes as of Nov. 12.
Lottery players must be at least 21 to purchase a ticket. The Lottery encourages anyone who has a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867.
