Jimmy R. Sims Sr. of Grand Cane claimed $20,000 at the Louisiana Lottery Corporation's Shreveport office from the Sept. 26 Powerball drawing.

"I am just very thankful," said Sims, age 50.  He said he plans to use his winnings to pay bills.

Sims' Powerball ticket matched four of the five white ball numbers plus the red Powerball number to win $10,000.  When Sims purchased his winning ticket at The Party Shop on Highway 84 West in Mansfield, he added the Power Play option to his ticket for an additional $1. When the Power Play number "2" was selected during the drawing, his winnings were multiplied by two, bringing his total prize to $20,000.

The winning numbers for the Sept. 26 drawing were 25-27-31-44-54 and the Powerball number was 8.
