BATON ROUGE – Long-time Louisiana Lottery Lotto player Darryl Jordan of Brookhaven, Miss. said he could hardly contain his excitement after seeing that his ticket won the jackpot prize from the Dec. 4 drawing.

“It was great to see that I won my money back and then some,” said Jordan. “Even though Mississippi has a lottery now, I plan to continue playing Lotto in Louisiana because I enjoy it so much!”

The 72-year-old’s winning ticket matched all six numbers to win the $1,248,209 Lotto jackpot prize, which he claimed Thursday at Louisiana Lottery headquarters. The winning numbers were 10-17-20-22-23-24.

Jordan received $886,230.52 after state and federal tax withholdings. He said he plans to use his winnings to build himself a nice new home.

The winning ticket was sold at Circle K Store #2723988 on Avenue G in Kentwood. The store received a one-time selling bonus of $12,482.09, which is 1% of the jackpot prize.
