Harvey resident James Haley is $200,000 wealthier after playing a $200,000 Cash scratch-off from the Louisiana Lottery, that won him a top-prize!
“I bought $40 worth of tickets and only won $15. So, I picked three more and ‘bam!’ Won $200,000 worth of RedBull!” Haley joked.
While claiming his prize on August 16 at the New Orleans’ Regional Lottery Office, the 34-year-old told staff that he believed the good fortune came back to him after helping others in need that week. Haley, who is a father of four, plans to use a portion of his winnings to pay off his home.
The winner purchased the lucky $10 ticket at Super Saver Store in Marrero. He will receive $142,000 after state and federal tax withholdings.
Two more top-prize winning tickets remain in the $200,000 Cash game, which went on sale June 28.
