BATON ROUGE – Boyce resident Glenn Feazell sat in disbelief while drinking his coffee the morning after the June 23 Powerball drawing after matching all five white-ball numbers on his ticket to win $1 million.

“I really couldn’t believe my eyes,” said Feazell when he realized that his ticket was a $1 million winner. “I had to hand the ticket over to my wife for her to double check the numbers because I really couldn’t believe that I won a million dollars!”

The 75-year-old’s winning ticket matched five of six numbers to win the $1 million, which he and his wife Mary claimed Monday at Louisiana Lottery headquarters. The winning numbers for the June 23 drawing were 16-29-43-45-56 and the Powerball was 25. He received $710,000 after state and federal tax withholdings.

Glenn and Mary said that they plan to purchase a new vehicle with their winnings and will also give some to members of their family.

The winning ticket was sold at Hilgers Texaco on Old Highway 1 in Lena. The store received a one-time selling bonus of $10,000 which is 1 percent of the prize.
