The Louisiana Lottery Corporation just completed its fourth successful renewal of its quality assurance best practices verification by the North American Association of State & Provincial Lotteries (NASPL). In 2006, the Louisiana Lottery became the very first lottery in the country to receive this industry verification and has continued to meet the standards criteria for excellence as demonstrated by the recent renewal.

"I am very proud of my staff’s hard work to ensure we remain an industry leader when it comes to quality assurance practices,” said Lottery President Rose Hudson. “It is through their dedication that our retailers and players are assured that we continue our mission to uphold the highest standards of integrity and public trust.”

In April 2004, NASPL issued a set of best practices, Quality Assurance of Product Development in the Lottery Industry, and outlined its verification process in January 2005. The Louisiana Lottery achieved verification in two areas of Quality Assurance Best Practices applicable to lotteries in November 2006.

Since then, the Lottery has undergone a review of these best practices every two to three years to apply for a renewal of the verification and has been successful each time.

The Quality Assurance best practices are intended to provide lotteries and vendors with simple, documented and approved methods for building quality into the product development and testing processes. The purpose of implementing the best practice is to increase the integrity of the Lottery business by producing high-quality systems that result in reduced risk, better performance, reduced costs and increased public confidence and player satisfaction.
