Players Win Over $14.9 Million in January

Louisiana Lottery players won more than $14.9 million in prizes in January, highlighted by two Cash Quest tickets worth $50,000 each.

President Rose Hudson said there were over $7.4 million in Louisiana Powerball, Lotto, Cash Quest, Pick 4 and Pick 3 winnings and over $7.5 million in scratch-off game winnings last month.

January's winners also included 17 Powerball tickets for $10,000 each and 186 Lotto tickets averaging $1,845 each.  Pick 3 winners won a total of $2,288,890 and Pick 4 winners won a total of $1,875,500.

"Last month over 31,000 Power Play purchasers won a bonus total of $374,483 in addition to their regular Powerball prize total of $181,238.  This included four players who won an average of $22,500," Hudson said. 

The Power Play option offers Powerball ticket purchasers the chance to multiply their winnings up to five times on all nonjackpot prizes for an additional $1.
