An impromptu trip to a local retailer in Cameron to buy snacks turned into a big win for Louisiana Lottery player Maxwell Gluckler, who won $50,004 playing Powerball.
The 28-year-old from Stuart, Fla., who works in Cameron, said he’s going to use his winnings to put a down payment on a house in his hometown.
“This really is enough to change your life,” Glucker said of his prize amount.
One of Gluckler’s winning tickets matched all four white-ball numbers and the red Powerball number to win $50,000 for the Feb. 6 drawing. On another ticket, he also won $4 by matching the red Powerball number.
The winning tickets were purchased at Darla-K Food Mart in Cameron. Gluckler received $35,004 after federal and state taxes were withheld.
Ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age. Draw-style game tickets must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing. Anyone who may have a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem should call toll free 1-877-770-7867 for help.
For security purposes, the Lottery strongly encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing. More information about other Powerball winners can be found on the Lottery’s website, www.louisianalottery.com.
