Luck Runs in the Family with Lottery’s Newest $5 Scratch-Off, Duck Dynasty

On Dec. 16, the Louisiana Lottery welcomes the Robertsons of A&E Network's hit reality series "Duck Dynasty" to its family of $5 scratch-off games. The show features the Robertson family as they run a successful duck call business and live the "American Dream" while staying true to their rugged outdoorsman lifestyle and roots.
"The Duck Dynasty brand brings to mind family values, honest hard work, family fun and making it big - which are all near and dear to Louisiana Lottery players," said Lottery President Rose Hudson. "Down South, we all have relatives who especially make us smile with their antics, quite like the Robertsons. The Lottery was eager to bring these Monroe boys' brand of southern ingenuity and their down-home sense of humor to a Lottery game."
The Lottery obtained the license to utilize the Duck Dynasty brand through MDI and hopes to capitalize on the skyrocketing success A&E's show has enjoyed over the last few years. The season 4 premiere was cable's #1 non-fiction telecast of all time with 11.8 million viewers.
With a total print run of 1.92 million tickets, the $5 Duck DynastyTM scratch-off game includes five different ticket scenes and six top prizes of $100,000. The designs feature the show's main bearded characters individually: Willie, his brother Jase, his father Phil and his uncle Si. A fifth scene called the "Quack Pack" features all four men. Overall odds of winning a scratch-off prize are 1 in 4, and the game contains more than $5.7 million prizes.
To add value for players, the Lottery is planning a series of social media promotions on Facebook, Twitter and its online players club, Club Lotteaux, in January to award Duck Dynasty merchandise prize packages.
More information about the Lottery's Duck DynastyTM scratch-off and related promotions will be posted on its website once the game launches. Players are advised to sign the back of their tickets for security purposes immediately after purchasing.
