Mandeville Man Wins Final I LOVE MY SAINTS Second-Chance Drawing
Lifelong Saints fan Michael Bicknell said he never expected to win a Lottery drawing, especially since his wife Jennifer was the one who submitted the nonwinning I LOVE MY SAINTS scratch-off ticket that was selected from among approximately 30,000 entries in the Lottery's final second-chance drawing for a 2013 Saints Season Prize Package.
"Jennifer will buy scratch-offs and put them in birthday cards. They're great for that kind of thing," Bicknell told Lottery officials when he visited the Lottery's New Orleans regional office. He said the ticket that won was probably one she had stuck in the card that she gave him for his last birthday.
He said his father had been a season ticket holder since the Saints first came to New Orleans in 1967, and he just gave them up after the 2011 season. Bicknell added that he will definitely invite his father to lunch with the Saints head coach, which is part of the second-chance prize.
As part of his prize, Bicknell will receive four Plaza Sideline tickets for the Saints 2013 season, one 2013 season parking pass, four 2013 pregame field passes, a tour of the Saints practice facility and lunch in the team cafeteria with the Saints head coach for up to four people.
The Lottery launched the $5 scratch-off I LOVE MY SAINTS as part of a strategic alliance with the New Orleans Saints last August. Nonwinning tickets from the game could be entered into one of four second-chance drawings administered by the Lottery for game-day tickets, autographed merchandise and more. The game closed April 12 and players have until August 10 to claim any cash prizes from the game, in accordance with Lottery policy.
Lottery ticket purchasers and second-chance drawing entrants must be at least 21 years of age. For security purposes, the Lottery encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing.
