More than 142,000 Louisiana Lottery players will cash in on prizes won in the record $590.5 million Powerball drawing on May 18, including one $1 million Match-5 winner, for a total of more than $1.9 million in prize money. A single ticket sold in Florida won the jackpot, which is the largest in Powerball history. The winning numbers were 10-13-14-22-52 and the Powerball number was 11.

Louisiana's $1 million-winning Powerball ticket was purchased at Matherne's Supermarket on Bluebonnet Boulevard in Baton Rouge, matching all five white ball numbers but missing the red Powerball number. The store will receive a bonus of $10,000, which is 1 percent of the prize, for selling the ticket.

In addition, there were two $40,000-winning Powerball with Power Play tickets sold in Louisiana that matched four of the five white ball numbers and the Powerball. One was sold at Shop-N-Bag in Houma, the other at Delta Discount in Delta. The Power Play option, added to the play for an additional $1, increased the prize from $10,000 to $40,000.

Louisiana also had five $10,000 winners, who matched four out of five white ball numbers and the red Powerball number. The tickets were purchased at the following locations:

Hammond: RaceTrac Petroleum #243 on SW Railroad Avenue
New Orleans: Gentilly Spur on Gentilly Boulevard
Slidell: Lishman's City Market on Hwy. 190 East
Tallulah: Tallulah Truck Stop on Hwy. 65 South
West Monroe: S. Mart on Cypress Street

Players should sign the back of their ticket immediately after purchasing for security purposes and treat their tickets like cash. After the drawing, winners have 180 days to claim their prizes. Louisiana Lottery retailers are required to pay prizes of $50 or less and are strongly encouraged to pay prizes of up to $600. Prizes of more than $600 must be claimed at a Lottery office; Powerball prizes of more than $510,000 must be claimed at the Lottery's headquarters in Baton Rouge.

In the lead up to Saturday's drawing, which captivated the nation, more than $13.2 million worth of Powerball tickets were sold in Louisiana for the week beginning Sunday, May 12. Louisiana Lottery sales for the entire jackpot run, which began March 31, totaled a whopping $26.2 million.

At least 35 percent of all Louisiana Lottery ticket sales is transferred to the state and dedicated to the Minimum Foundation Program, which funds public education in Louisiana.

Lottery ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age.
