When Louisiana Lottery players purchase a single-draw $5 Lotto ticket from March 1 to June 30, they’ll get a little something extra – an entry into a raffle drawing worth up to $50,000 cash.

“With a rolling cash jackpot that starts at $250,000, Lotto has enjoyed ongoing success as Louisiana’s flagship in-state game,” said Lottery President Rose Hudson. “We’re giving our players even more reasons to love Lotto during our Lotto Lagniappe promotion by offering bonus entries into a raffle drawing for additional cash prizes. Now is the perfect time to give Lotto a try, especially since its jackpot has reached $1,150,000 for Saturday's drawing!"

With each eligible $5 single-draw Lotto ticket purchase, a second “entry” ticket will print that is good for the next monthly Lotto Lagniappe drawing. Lotto Lagniappe entry tickets will feature a unique seven-digit raffle number which must match exactly a winning number drawn to win a prize.

“With eligible purchases, Lotto players will get their Lotto ticket plus a bonus entry ticket for the lagniappe raffle, so be sure to look for two tickets,” Hudson reminded players.

Each Lotto Lagniappe entry is good for one draw date, which is printed on the entry ticket. Four monthly drawings will be held on the first of the months of April, May, June and July from entries generated during the previous month.

The following Lotto Lagniappe prizes will be awarded during each drawing:  one winning number worth $50,000, one winning number worth $5,000 and five winning numbers worth $1,000. In total, seven winners of an additional $60,000 in prizes will be awarded each month of the promotion.

Lotto Lagniappe drawing results will be available on the Lottery’s website and via winning numbers reports on retailer terminals after 9:59 p.m. on each drawing date.  Odds of winning a prize are dependent upon the number of Lotto Lagniappe entry tickets generated during each drawing entry period. Lotto Lagniappe prizes must be claimed at a Lottery office within 180 days of the Lagniappe drawing.  Complete game and promotional rules can be found in the Lotto and Lotto Lagniappe directives on the Lottery’s website, www.louisianalottery.com/lotto-lagniappe

Ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age. For security purposes, the Lottery strongly encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing.
